Every year when people are just kicking their holidays into high gear, Pantone releases their new year pick for Color of the Year. Normally this is an early Christmas present for us at the beginning on December. This is always an exciting time because it gets the ideas and the juices flowing for the year to come. You start to think about refreshing your space in January after the Christmas tree is taken down.
For 2024 Pantone has selected Peach Fuzz for their color of the year. They invite us to
“Embrace the Warmth”

of this color which is a nice hug after the many years of gray that we have seen in interiors. Unbutton your coats, friends, and get comfortable. Our living and work spaces are about to warm up!
As a Georgia girl from the heart of the “Peach State,” I am delighted in this year’s pick. In interiors you can drench the room in this peachy hue or you can sprinkle in some subtle accents to just warm it up a little bit. Let me show you how you can do this.

A rug is the easiest way to embrace a color of the year without committing to it long term. Any hardwood or woodlook floor with a warm undertone could handle a peach rug.

If this color is really speaking to you, you can update your floors with hardwood maple or hickory planks with light red, peachy undertones. This will pair well with light colored creamy walls that we are seeing nowadays and neutral furniture. And of course you will need a custom rug to anchor your furniture.
We’d love to hear how you are using Peach Fuzz in your space.
